A Photo Diary: The People of Vietnam
Vietnam is a photographic gem. Its iconic locations include Ha Long Bay, Ba Na Hills, the lantern town of Hoi An, the Old Quarter of Ha Noi, the scenic drive through Hai Van Pass, the Mekong River Delta, Ninh Binh, Sa Pa, Mai Chau, Mui Ne, Da Lat, Da Nang, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City, and the list goes on.
Vietnam offers expansive landscapes, historic architecture, lush mountainous regions, and a long coastline on the South China Sea.
When I look back on our adventures over the past seven years visiting Vietnam, the photographs of the people tell the story for me. The people of Vietnam have always treated us with kindness and respect. They are open to sharing their stories, cuisine, and gracious hospitality. They take pride in their rich history and cultural and family traditions.
Vietnam is a country to which we are always eager to return.
After reviewing my archives of photographs from Vietnam, I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures of the Vietnamese people and a touch of their beautiful culture.
Note: At the time of this writing, Vietnam and other parts of Asia had just suffered a Super Typhoon (Category 5 Hurricane). Lives have been lost, and the typhoon left a path of destruction. We hold all those impacted by the disaster in our thoughts and wish them the best as they recover from the storm.
