In 2024, travel is expected to break all records with 4.7 billion people traveling worldwide (that's 200 million more people than the pre-pandemic record high in 2019). An estimated 40 million flights will take off. These numbers don't even take into account how many will venture off on road trips.

More and more people are moving about the planet and how we travel matters.

"Responsible tourism can be very beneficial to the animals, the environment, to the local people, to the government, and to the tourist." Jane Goodall

On the contrary, travel has a dark side.

"Tourism can kill a place. A place that was so beautiful, can become overused, exploited and trashed. Most tourism has led to the destruction of the very things they've come to see." Jane Goodall

Ethical Responsible Travel
If you can ride it, hug it, take a selfie with a wild animal, chances are it's cruel, so don't do it.

Tourism can change lives for the better, but we need to take a hard look at how we travel. "The Last Tourist" pulls back the curtains and shows us the true cost of travel - on the environment, wildlife, and host communities. It's difficult to watch at times, but necessary.

Travel can also be a force of good. It can enrich lives, be a way to give back, and potentially be one of the greatest ways to redistribute wealth in the world. If we contribute in the right way, we could change the world one journey at a time.
